Symptom annotation made simple

SAMS is a database and phenotyping tool for precision medicine. Phenotyping includes symptoms and clinical signs from the Human Phenotype Ontology and diagnoses (e.g. from Orphanet). Data can either be stored in our database or shared as GA4GH Phenopackets.

SAMS is open source and free to use (but requires citation) and it can be used with or without registration.

For patients there is SAMS-Pat: a version of SAMS with a reduced and therefore easier-to-use interface, in which they can record their own symptoms.

Registration is not required to export a phenopacket or to try SAMS in the sandbox. It is required to store your data.

SAMS uses a session cookie that stores nothing but a session ID and is deleted when you log off. A second cookie keeps your unsaved entries.
